Coca-Cola has launched a 500 ml soft bottle (except for bottle caps and labels) made of 100% rPET in Hong Kong, including original Coca-Cola, diet Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola plus. It is the first Coca-Cola package in Hong Kong to use 100% rPET. The new package is printed with the words "I'm a 100% recycled plastic bottle" and "Recycle me Again", aiming to foster consumers' awareness of recycling and encourage them to take environmental action. The factories have started to transform filling production lines for blower, filler, bottle conveyor system, case conveyor system etc.
The Hong Kong SAR government will implement the municipal solid waste charging project has the potential to provide Coca-Cola with more rPET resources, so as to help Coca-Cola produce more 100% rPET bottles for more products.
